Home Members Regale Winery and Vineyards

Regale Winery and Vineyards may be the newest winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains but it feels like it’s been here forever. Built of stone and of classical Tuscan design, it is surrounded by elegant and spacious gardens, with many tables and spots for picnicking. The name Regale means “to entertain lavishly with food and drink” and the winery’s founder and winemaker, Larry Schaadt, chose that name to emphasize the linkage between wine and food. He first started wine-making in 1990 with a small family winery in the Carmel Valley, expanded his knowledge at UC Davis, as well as with extensive wine tasting all over California and Europe. The property is roughly ten acres and situated on a promontory with a commanding vista. There is a wide and spacious patio with a wood-fired oven that makes it a welcome respite even in cool or rainy weather. Every Sunday, they have live music from 1-4 pm.
